I also had the same question as Carlos. Where are most of the people staying for the camp? I know about staying at the actual camp but I was wondering what hotel if any was recommended and if there was a group rate. Also, if there was a hotel, have there been any transportation arrangements made to the camp everyday like a shuttle we could chip in for?
I'm arriving on the 20th and leaving on the 26th. I have also heard about the Best Western.

Thanks

more stuff to bring

If you are camping, also consider bringing these items:
FOAM or INFLATABLE SLEEPING PAD (otherwise you will be sleeping on cold hard ground or boards)

also nice to have:
lantern, solar-rechargeable light, flashlight.
cord for a clothesline to dry clothes (safety pins too).
garbage bags to keep clean dry items clean and dry, and store wet dirty items separately.

list of stuff to bring

1st time campers? May find this list of stuff to bring useful:

All food and drinks are provided, 3-sided shelter provided. Bring anything else you need.

Workout gear for 4 runs and 8 Thai workouts: gloves, mouthpiece, thai pads, focus mitts, handwraps, water bottle, athletic tape, any protective gear you may want.

Expect to get dirty, you can wash Thai shorts & re-use. Cool mornings and evenings, may be damp, foggy, moist. Usually warm /hot sunny days. Bring some sweats, a jacket for the cool evenings/mornings. (You may be able to buy some gear, shirts, shorts, sweats, etc. at the camp...but not on the 1st day) Uneven ground, sometimes rocky, running shoes work well. I like some comfy sandals to wear after the workouts are over to give my feet a rest.

Lip balm, sunscreen, first aid for blisters, abrasions, sprains, etc...tape, band-aids, ACE wraps, liquid skin.....

Towel, pillow, sleeping bag, soap, shampoo, etc... plus the usual toiletries you'd bring on any trip...

Flashlight. Cell phone probably won't work.

Pencil, pen, note pad, Thai vocabulary list to study.

hotels

Is it recommended to get a hotel or to stay at the camp. I do not mind camping but since I am am not sure what I would need to bring if I stay at the camp?

Hotels

Hey I just got a room at the Econo Lodge where Steve is staying. I got a $39 deal so you can't really beat that. According to MapQuest it's about 30 min from camp which is about how all the other hotels are.

If you're interested in getting a room there here is the info...

Econo Lodge

Map Quest the directions if you want to know how close it is to camp exactly. Here are camp directions...

I did get a low rate at the Econo Lodge and I think I have a decent rate on a car. I will confirm the car later this week. If anyone is staying at the Econo Lodge and I get the car you are welcome to get a ride. I did read that the breakfast at the hotel is not so hot but there is breakfast at the camp.
