TBA-SA Certification workshop in conjuction with a Smoker

This workshop will be mandatory for anyone that wishes to work the MTC 2009 as a judge or referee.

We will be arranging approx 25 fights. New referees and judges will be able to receive answers to their questions right on the spot. Since the fights will be smokers, they will not affect anyone's fight record and it will give them a chance to get a little more experience before the tournament. If we need to extend a rest period during a bout to cover a specific issue/concern, we will have the choice to do so.

This will be a great opportunity for any pro MMA fighters that have wanted to try a Muay Thai fight. This is a smoker, not a sanctioned event. Safety equipment WILL be worn! This is to help the officials being sanctioned as well as giving fighters a chance for some additional ring time.

Anyone interested in becoming TBA-SA certified to work the tournament as well as other night events, please contact me. We are currently working on expansion into several others states. Once approved in a new area, we will be sending out teams that are already certified to help establish teams in other cities and states.

Here is the info for the workshop:

Date: Saturday March 21, 2009. 9:30am-12:30pm, lunch break, 1:30pm-4:30 pm, supper break, 5:30pm-8:30pm
(Fights will begin during second session at 1:30. First session will be covering rules, Q&A, testing, photos taken, etc)

Cost of workshop: $35/person, this will include I.D. card (you will get it that day!), certificate, officials handbook, and photo taken for I.D. card and to be posted on TBA-SA website. Polos and T-shirts will also be there to purchase. Polos are $25, Tshirts are $15. I'll see if I can get some hoodies printed before then for those that are interested in those.

I will be posting requirements for the officials on the TBA-SA website later next week once I've had a chance to finalize them.
